Sunflower Foundation names Anne Zajic as its new grants manager

Sunflower Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Anne Zajic as its new grants manager. Her first day on the job was Dec. 29.

Anne oversees the full grantmaking lifecycle of multiple programs for Sunflower Foundation and Kansas Fights Addiction, providing support for both staff and grantees. She ensures compliance and accurate records, designs workflows, reviews proposals, coordinates payment schedules and supports evaluation and audit activities.

Anne most recently served as assistant director for the Kansas Department of Commerce Community Development Block Grant program, which helps communities across the state manage federal funding to support projects such as infrastructure, housing, and public facilities. She also has previous experience in banking and compliance.

As a cervical cancer survivor, Anne has taken a lead role in advocating for awareness and prevention of the disease, serving as a patient advocate with Cervivor, Inc., and vice state lead ambassador for the Kansas chapter of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. She also is the chair-elect for the board of Immunize Kansas Coalition and a fellow with the National HPV Vaccination Roundtable Emerging Leaders Fellowship.

A lifetime resident of Topeka, Anne earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baker University in Baldwin, Kan. She and her husband, Dean, have three daughters: Clara, Julia, and Katie.
