Sunflower Foundation supports nonprofit organizations and communities through both responsive grantmaking and periodic Requests for Proposal (RFP). See the latest grant opportunities below.

2023 Capacity Building Grant Program
Since 2002, when Sunflower Foundation launched its first capacity building grant program, the foundation has recognized the importance of helping health-related nonprofits build their organizational capacity and, subsequently, their capacity to serve Kansans. Over the last two decades, the foundation has partnered with more than 330 capacity building grantees to provide nearly $12 million in direct funding.
The foundation believes that capacity building helps organizations develop the infrastructure they need to fulfill their missions and strengthen their impact, which is why we have committed to providing another round of capacity building funds to support the critical organizational needs of nonprofits across the state. Capacity building grant funding will be made available through a request for proposal (RFP) process and will include opportunities for targeted technical assistance from content matter experts, as well as peer learning and networking via Sunflower-sponsored learning collaboratives.
